Mortica Geschrieben 7. Juli 2003 Geschrieben 7. Viggo in Tivoli Ekstra Bladet June 23, 2003 Viggo Mortensen and Peter Jackson to gala premiere of ’The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King’ in Tivoli’s Concert Hall. We’ll be expecting an unusual fine visit when Tivoli’s Concert Hall December 14th opens the doors for the biggest gala premiere of the year, the premiere of the third movie of the Tolkien-trilogy ‘Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’. Besides the Danish-American superstar Viggo Mortensen, the director himself, Peter Jackson, has according to SF Film also reported his arrival. Peter Jackson had otherwise only planned to appear at the world premiere in his homeland N ew Zealand and the two big premieres in Berlin and Los Angeles, but suddenly he said that he very much would like to go to the premiere in Denmark too, because he always has wanted to meet Queen Margrethe in person. She’ll also appear at the premiere as she’s done the last two times, Lars Bennike from SF Films tells and adds: We’re very proud that both Viggo Mortensen and Peter Jackson are going to appear and we have put every ounce of energy into making a magnificent gala premiere here in Denmark. VIGGO TO ODENSE Viggo Mortensen who also gave lustre to the gala premiere in Denmark of the first movie will, by the way, very soon be in Denmark, where he has an exhibition at The Photo Museum in Brandts Klædefabrik in Odense. The opening is going to be Friday, June 27th and the photo exhibition shall be retrospective and show Viggo Mortensen’s photo art from 1978 to 2003. The next day Viggo Mortensen shall recite from his poem collections in Magasinet. The entire profit of the gala premiere in Tivoli’s Concert Hall, which is going to be made into a cinema for 1300 people, shall be donated to the Red Cross. Last year the organisation received 412,500 DKR from a similar show in the Imperial Cinema. The last two Lord of the Rings movies, ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ and ‘The Two Towers’ have, by the way, been watched by 2.4 million Danish people, and around the world the two movies have brought in 1.8 billion dollars.
